Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated Anambra Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on his re-election in the November 8, 2025 governorship election, urging all stakeholders to respect the outcome as a reflection of the people’s choice.

Speaking from Osogbo on Sunday, Adeleke, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, commended Soludo’s leadership, stating that his victory mirrors the popularity of his governance style, developmental initiatives, and service to the people.

“The people of Anambra have spoken, and their choice must be respected. His re-election reflects his good performance over the last four years and the deep affection the electorate has for him,” Adeleke said.

The governor further emphasized that sustainable democracy depends on honoring voters’ decisions and preventing electoral malpractice. He urged political actors to refrain from any form of electoral robbery, noting that power fundamentally originates from the people.

“Democracy is about the ballot paper, ballot box, and a free environment for citizens to exercise their votes. The people are the ultimate decision-makers, and no one can force themselves on them,” Adeleke stated.

He also praised INEC leadership under Prof. Amupitan for their role in conducting credible elections and encouraged the commission to continue deepening electoral reforms. Adeleke concluded by calling on politicians to recommit to transparency, accountability, and respect for the constitution as a mark of democratic maturity.
