Otti Commends Outgoing Navy College Commandant, Welcomes Successor in Abia

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has commended the outgoing Commandant of the Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance, Owerrinta, Commodore B.U. Quadri, for his professionalism and contributions to security in the state.
Otti gave the commendation on Thursday while receiving Quadri and his successor, Commodore Emmanuel Onu, at his residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.
The governor said Quadri had made significant contributions to Abia’s security architecture, particularly through his participation in the state’s monthly security meetings.
He also assured the incoming commandant of the state government’s continued cooperation and support, urging him to build on his predecessor’s achievements.
“All we expect is that you will do better. You can count on the same support we gave him.
“We will also give you so much support so that you can do better,” Otti told Onu.
In his remarks, Quadri described his time in Abia as challenging but rewarding, thanking the governor for creating an environment that allowed security agencies to perform their duties without unnecessary interference.
He particularly praised Otti for respecting the professional independence of security agencies, saying the state government’s support had helped them discharge their responsibilities.
Quadri formally introduced his successor, Commodore Emmanuel Onu, who belongs to Direct Regular Course 12 and has served in the Nigerian Navy for more than three decades.
He expressed confidence that Onu would build on the achievements recorded during his tenure and further strengthen cooperation between the Nigerian Navy and the Abia State Government.
The outgoing commandant also appreciated the state government for its support to the Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance, while appealing for additional assistance to improve accommodation facilities for officers and personnel of the institution.
