ADC Governorship Candidate Sabo Nakudu Says Nigerians Have Suffered Under Tinubu’s Government

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Jigawa State, Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying Nigerians have endured significant hardship since the President took office on May 29, 2023.

Nakudu made his position known in a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday, where he accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government of introducing policies that have worsened the difficulties faced by ordinary Nigerians.

The ADC chieftain called for urgent action to ease the economic pressure on households, pointing to the removal of the petrol subsidy as a major factor behind the hardship. He argued that Nigerians needed more meaningful relief from the rising cost of living.

Nakudu also questioned the adequacy of a one-month reduction in fuel prices announced by the Tinubu administration. He described the measure as insufficient, insisting that Nigerians needed lasting solutions rather than temporary relief.

He linked the reported fuel price reduction to a recent proposal by ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to restore the petrol subsidy as a way of reducing the burden on citizens.

“The one-month reduction in fuel prices announced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration is a result of the recent proposal by the ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to restore the fuel subsidy to ease the suffering of Nigerians,” Nakudu said.

The ADC candidate maintained that the government needed to do more to address the economic challenges facing Nigerians since the subsidy was removed on May 29, 2023. His comments add to the criticism of the administration’s economic policies from opposition figures.

Nakudu’s remarks reflect the ADC’s position on the cost-of-living crisis and the debate over whether restoring the fuel subsidy or adopting other measures would provide more sustainable relief. The source did not include a response from the Federal Government to his claims.
