Man United Return to Champions League as CEO Berrada Hails Financial Progress

Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada says the club’s return to the Champions League and record financial performance reflect the progress made since he took charge.

Berrada highlighted the club’s latest financial results in a statement on X on Wednesday, pointing to record revenue and adjusted EBITDA despite United spending the previous season without European football.

“We are pleased to have secured record revenues and adjusted EBITDA which demonstrates the underlying strength of our business, particularly in a season without European football,” Berrada said.

The United CEO said the figures showed the impact of work carried out over the past two years and pointed to the club’s continued global popularity and commercial strength. He also stressed that the club would maintain a disciplined approach to keep its finances sustainable.

Berrada said Manchester United had also strengthened both its men’s and women’s teams during the summer transfer window. The men’s team will now return to Champions League football, bringing European club football’s biggest competition back to Old Trafford.

The financial performance is particularly notable because United managed to post record figures despite missing out on European competition last season. Berrada said the results demonstrated the underlying strength of the club’s business beyond income generated from European football.
