Arsenal Sweat Over Kai Havertz Injury After Germany’s Draw With Netherlands

Kai Havertz Injur
Arsenal are facing an anxious wait over Kai Havertz’s fitness after the forward suffered a suspected hamstring injury during Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League.
Havertz was forced off in the 32nd minute after a heavy challenge from Quinten Timber. The Arsenal forward received treatment on the pitch before being replaced by Younes Eboutalib, leaving Mikel Arteta concerned about another potential setback to his squad.
The injury overshadowed Jurgen Klopp’s first match in charge of Germany, which ended in a frustrating draw after a late equaliser from Cody Gakpo denied the hosts victory.
Germany had taken the lead through Felix Nmecha in the first half, but Gakpo struck in stoppage time to secure a 1-1 result for the Netherlands.
Havertz was not the only major injury concern for Germany. Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala withdrew before kick-off after suffering an apparent thigh injury during the warm-up.
Speaking to RTL after the match, Klopp confirmed that both players were undergoing MRI scans to determine the extent of their injuries.
The German coach expressed hope that the injuries would not be serious, although he acknowledged that both players could miss upcoming fixtures.
The setbacks add to Arsenal’s growing list of fitness concerns during the international break. Declan Rice and Marli Salmon have withdrawn from England’s senior and Under-18 squads, respectively, while Jurrien Timber was left out of the Netherlands’ matchday squad as a precaution following recent injury problems.
Arsenal will now await the results of Havertz’s scan to determine whether he will be available for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Leeds United on October 10. Germany, meanwhile, are preparing for a run of matches against Greece and Serbia.
