Real Madrid have intensified efforts to keep Vinícius Júnior at the Santiago Bernabéu by submitting an improved contract offer, as speculation over the Brazilian forward’s future continues to grow amid reported interest from Arsenal.
According to reports, the Spanish giants have resumed negotiations with the 26-year-old after discussions reportedly stalled for almost a year. Vinícius’ current contract runs until June 2027, but uncertainty over a new deal has fueled transfer rumours across Europe.
Real Madrid’s latest proposal is reportedly worth around €22 million per year, a notable increase on previous offers made during earlier negotiations. However, the figure still falls short of the player’s reported salary expectations, with Vinícius believed to be seeking a package worth about €30 million annually.
The Brazilian winger currently earns an estimated €17.5 million per season, leaving a sizeable gap between both parties as talks continue.
Despite the ongoing negotiations, reports suggest Real Madrid could consider selling the attacker if an agreement on a contract extension cannot be reached before the close of the transfer window.
That possibility has reportedly alerted Premier League champions Arsenal, who are keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season. The North London club is said to admire Vinícius and could explore a move should contract talks with Madrid collapse.
Even so, many observers believe the current negotiations are part of a strategy that will ultimately lead to the Brazilian extending his stay in Spain rather than forcing an exit.
