Popular Nigerian content creator Peller has announced that only 100 invited guests will attend his upcoming white wedding with his partner, Jarvis, following reports of widespread phone theft during their traditional wedding ceremony.

The couple celebrated their traditional marriage on Saturday, August 1, in an event that drew celebrities, influencers, friends and hundreds of fans. Clips from the colourful ceremony quickly spread across social media, making it one of the most talked-about weddings of the weekend.

Hours after the celebration, Peller revealed that he had been receiving numerous calls from guests claiming their mobile phones were stolen outside the event venue. The reports prompted him to tighten security plans for the couple’s church wedding.

Taking to Instagram, the content creator expressed concern over the incident, writing: “I just dey get different calls about people’s phones being snatched outside.”

To prevent a repeat of the situation, Peller disclosed that the white wedding, scheduled for August 8, will be a strictly invitation-only ceremony with just 100 guests in attendance.

“August 8th is the day we will join together as one, which is the white wedding. 100 guests only. Please, if I did not send you an invitation, do not come,” he said.

Peller also issued a stern warning to touts, popularly known as agberos, urging them to stay away from the venue. He alleged that several phones were stolen during the traditional wedding and warned that anyone found loitering around the event would be removed by security personnel.

Security arrangements are expected to be significantly tighter for the white wedding, although the couple has not yet disclosed the venue for the ceremony.
