Nollywood actor Charles Okocha has rubbished allegations by controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, that he bit him during their recent celebrity boxing rematch, insisting the accusation is completely false.

The two entertainers faced off at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos, on Friday, where Okocha was declared the winner after Portable was disqualified for breaching the rules by switching from wrestling techniques to punches before eventually leaving the ring.

Following the bout, Portable claimed Okocha had bitten him on the back and held him by the neck during the contest, arguing that he should never have agreed to participate in such a fight.

Responding during an interview on TVC Entertainment on Tuesday, Okocha dismissed the allegation, explaining that he wore a protective mouth guard throughout the match, making it impossible for him to bite his opponent.

“Portable has been going around telling people I bit him on the back. I was wearing a mouth guard; how is that even possible? He was just lying,” Okocha said.

The actor also mocked the singer’s claims, saying he had no reason to bite him under any circumstance.

“I would rather chew grass than bite him. I don’t want to catch rabies. Have you seen how Portable’s skin looks? Hell no, I wouldn’t do that. He should just accept defeat,” he added.

The latest clash adds another chapter to the pair’s growing boxing rivalry. In 2023, Portable defeated Okocha during a celebrity boxing event held at Landmark Beach, Victoria Island, claiming the championship belt.

Portable has also been involved in another high-profile boxing controversy after losing to skit maker Carter Efe. Following that defeat, the singer alleged foul play, claiming his opponent held him by the neck and later demanded ₦200 million in compensation from the event organisers, citing personal circumstances at the time of the fight.

With both entertainers continuing to trade accusations after their latest showdown, the rivalry appears far from over and is likely to keep fans talking in the days ahead.
