Actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot appears to be making a return to Nollywood after missing out on the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Surulere Constituency I seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Photos and videos circulating on social media captured Elliot on a movie set alongside veteran actor Ibrahim Chatta, with both stars seen discussing scenes during what is believed to be the production of a new film.
The images quickly generated excitement among movie lovers, many of whom welcomed the actor’s return to the screen after years of focusing on his political career. Fans described the development as a chance to see one of Nollywood’s familiar faces back in action.
Elliot has spent the last several years in politics, serving as the lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly. During that period, his appearances in films became less frequent as he concentrated on legislative duties.
His return to a movie set comes shortly after he failed to secure the APC’s ticket to seek another term in office. The three-term lawmaker lost the party’s primary election to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who emerged winner by a wide margin.
