The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for available positions across its officer, marshal inspectorate and road marshal assistant cadres.

According to a notice dated June 24, the application window opens on Friday, July 3, 2026, and will run for four weeks through the corps’ official recruitment portal.

The announcement, signed by Deputy Corps Marshal and Head of Administration and Human Resources, Pauline Olaye, on behalf of the Corps Marshal, confirmed that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge.

“Application is free and attracts no cost,” the notice stated.

Applicants are required to submit their applications online via the official portal at https://recruitment.frsc.gov.ng. Shortlisted candidates will later present printed copies of their application forms during screening.

The FRSC explained that recruitment is open across three major categories, each with specific academic and professional requirements.

Under the Officer Cadre, positions include Superintendent Route Commanders, Route Commanders/Deputy Route Commanders, and Assistant Route Commanders. Eligible applicants include professionals such as medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, engineers, lawyers, and graduates with B.Sc., BA, or HND qualifications. Applicants in this category must generally be between 18 and 35 years old.

For the Marshal Inspectorate Cadre, candidates with NCE, ND/OND, Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife, and Community Health Extension Worker qualifications are eligible. The age bracket for applicants in this category is 18 to 30 years.

The Road Marshal Assistant Cadre is open to candidates with at least three credits in SSCE, including English Language and Mathematics, as well as skilled artisans and drivers.

The corps listed artisans such as mechanics, electricians, plumbers, computer operators, tailors, motorcycle riders and drivers as eligible, provided they meet relevant trade and licensing requirements. Drivers applying for specialised roles must possess valid driver’s licences, while articulated and tow-truck drivers must be between 26 and 40 years old.

Beyond academic qualifications, FRSC outlined general eligibility conditions. Applicants must be Nigerian by birth, medically fit, computer literate, and of good character. They must also be single and free from financial or criminal liabilities.

The corps added that male applicants must not be below 1.65 metres in height, while female applicants must be at least 1.58 metres tall. It also warned applicants not to have tattoos and advised them to use personal email addresses and phone numbers during registration.

The FRSC further cautioned that pregnant women should not apply for the exercise, while warning the public to beware of fraudsters.

“This recruitment is absolutely free. Interested applicants should beware of fraudsters,” the notice added.

For enquiries, the corps directed applicants to call 122.
