Danielle Edochie, daughter of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has made it clear that she has no interest in dating or marrying internet fraudsters, popularly known in Nigeria as Yahoo boys.
Speaking in a video shared on her social media page, Danielle said she finds it disturbing that some people assume she would consider a relationship with someone involved in online fraud simply because of the wealth they display.
She stressed that she could never build a romantic relationship with someone whose lifestyle depends on defrauding others. According to her, the source of a person’s wealth matters just as much as the money itself.
“I will never romanticise the idea of being a partner of someone who defrauds people whether physically or online. It’s shocking every time someone asks whether I’m into fraud boys. I don’t understand why I should carry my whole essence and give to someone who steals,” she said.
Danielle acknowledged that many women are drawn to the financial lifestyle associated with internet fraudsters but insisted that money alone is not enough to influence her choice of a partner.
“A lot of ladies may be attracted to the huge amount of money those guys make, but not me. I love money too, but please, just stay far away from me,” she added.
Her comments have sparked conversations on social media, where users continue to debate the growing culture of glorifying wealth without questioning its source. The discussion also reflects broader concerns about the influence of internet fraud on relationships and societal values.
Danielle’s remarks come at a time when public figures are increasingly using their platforms to speak against cybercrime and encourage young people to pursue legitimate means of earning a living.
