Nollywood actress Omeche Oko has been hospitalised after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident while filming a movie scene.
The actress revealed the incident in a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, showing moments from the production set, the crash, and her treatment in hospital.
According to the footage, Oko was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle being operated by fellow actor Victory Michael when the accident occurred during filming.
The situation escalated when the motorcycle reportedly collided with a metal pole attached to a vehicle barrier at the location. The impact injured Michael and caused him to lose control of the motorcycle, throwing Oko to the ground.
Video clips from the aftermath showed crew members and fellow actors rushing to assist the actress as she cried out in pain before being taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Additional scenes captured Oko receiving medical attention, including injections and other procedures aimed at treating injuries sustained in the crash.
Reflecting on the experience, the actress described the incident as a reminder of how unpredictable life can be and expressed gratitude for surviving the accident.
“Life is very, very fragile. It could have been a different story, but God said NO. If you see an actor today, give them a hug. We take a lot of risks for the craft. All I can say is Thank You, God,” she wrote.
Her post quickly attracted reactions from colleagues, fans and followers, many of whom offered prayers and words of encouragement.
Among those who reacted was Instagram user xO_joannajordan, who wrote, “My God. What fuels your passion won’t cause you pain. Sending you prayers and love.”
Another follower, chekwasmichaels, commented, “The struggles behind scenes, I pray for a quick comeback,” while fellow actors and fans also wished her a speedy recovery.
The incident has once again highlighted the physical risks actors sometimes face while performing scenes on film sets, especially those involving stunts and moving vehicles.
