Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced that his sixth studio album, Oriadé, will be released on July 31, 2026, a date that coincides with his 15th anniversary in the music industry.
The award-winning singer unveiled the project during an exclusive interview with Billboard before confirming the news on his social media platforms with a cinematic teaser that immediately generated excitement among fans.
Sharing the announcement, Davido wrote: “ORIADÉ. 31st JULY. The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne. Pre-order my new album now.”
The teaser presents the 33-year-old in regal fashion, dressed in an embroidered wine-and-black traditional outfit adorned with beads while standing beside a throne and a crown. The visuals reflect themes of royalty, destiny and purpose that appear to define the forthcoming album.
The title Oriadé is derived from the Yoruba words “ori,” meaning head or destiny, and “adé,” meaning crown. Together, the title symbolises a destiny crowned with honour—a concept Davido says represents a deeply personal phase of his musical journey.
The announcement comes as the Afrobeats star celebrates 15 years since his breakthrough into the Nigerian music scene, a career that has seen him become one of Africa’s most influential global artists.
Over the years, Davido has built an impressive catalogue of chart-topping albums and international collaborations, helping to expand the global reach of Afrobeats while earning multiple awards and recognition across the world.
Although the singer has yet to reveal the full tracklist or featured artists, anticipation is already building among fans eager to hear what the new era of his music will sound like.
With Oriadé, Davido appears set to blend cultural symbolism with personal storytelling, making the project one of the most anticipated African album releases of 2026.
