Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has dismissed widespread reports suggesting that he and his wife, fellow artiste Simi, welcomed twins, clarifying that the couple actually had a baby boy.

The singer addressed the speculation during an interview on Great Day Houston, a morning programme on KHOU 11 television in Houston, Texas, which was later uploaded to YouTube.

When the host referenced reports claiming the couple had welcomed twins in early March, Adekunle Gold immediately corrected the narrative.

“Not even twins. That’s the internet, by the way. We have a son,” he said.

The clarification puts an end to months of online speculation that had gained traction across entertainment platforms, fuelled in part by cryptic social media posts interpreted by fans as hints of a double birth.

Adekunle Gold, who already shares a six-year-old daughter with Simi, also spoke about his marriage, describing it as creatively enriching given that both partners are musicians.

“It’s interesting to be married to another fantastic songwriter. We bounce off ideas in the home,” he said.

He added that their daughter is already showing early signs of musical talent, suggesting that creativity runs strongly in the family.

During the interview, the singer also discussed his music career and confirmed the release of his new project, Fuji Xtra, which dropped on the same day.

Adekunle Gold described his evolving sound as “electrofuji,” a high-energy fusion of traditional Fuji music and modern production styles driven by percussion and contemporary influences.

The twins’ speculation had circulated widely since January after the singer shared a cryptic post on Snapchat, writing, “Asked God for another child and He blessed me double,” alongside images of baby outfits labelled “Double Trouble.”

The post sparked widespread assumptions online, with many concluding that the couple had welcomed twins, a claim now officially debunked by the singer.
