Federal High Court Grants VeryDarkMan’s Ally BLord Bail in Abuja, Orders Surrender of Passport
The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Nigerian entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as BLord, in his ongoing legal dispute involving social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse.
Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia delivered the ruling on Friday, setting what the court described as liberal bail conditions after BLord spent 16 days in Kuje Correctional Centre, including the Easter holiday period.
As part of the bail terms, the court ordered BLord to surrender his international passport and provide two sureties with credible public standing. He was also directed to refrain from making public statements relating to the case while proceedings continue.
The dispute between both parties stems from allegations that BLord used VeryDarkMan’s image and trademark without consent in promoting his business ventures, sparking a legal battle that has drawn significant public attention online.
During the hearing, counsel to VeryDarkMan informed the court that he was withdrawing an earlier objection to the bail application, effectively clearing the way for the court’s decision. The move signalled a shift in the posture of the case, with indications that both sides may be exploring an out-of-court settlement.
Court observers noted a cordial interaction between legal representatives of both parties before proceedings began, further fueling speculation that negotiations were ongoing behind the scenes.
BLord’s legal team also confirmed in court that while their client acknowledges issues arising from the dispute, both parties are now open to resolving the matter amicably.
The court had previously remanded BLord at Kuje Correctional Facility on April 1, following his arraignment, before granting bail in the latest sitting.
The case continues as the court monitors compliance with bail conditions and awaits further proceedings in the intellectual property-related dispute.
