Three people lost their lives and several others were injured following a brutal attack on Agwa Community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State on June 4, 2025. The Imo State Police Command has vowed to apprehend those responsible for the violence, as confirmed by the Command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye.

A tactical unit, alongside other security operatives and local vigilante groups, has been deployed to track down the suspected hoodlums behind the fresh wave of violence. The police have intensified search operations targeting forested areas, bushes, and known criminal hideouts believed to harbor the perpetrators.

State Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma condemned the attacks, describing them as senseless and an affront on law-abiding residents. He mandated a thorough investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department to uncover the circumstances that led to the violent outbreak.
