Nightlife entrepreneur and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has filed a defamation lawsuit in a Kenyan court against Hellen Wanjiku, the woman who recently accused him of fathering her child.

The suit, filed at the Nairobi High Court on Tuesday, June 25, 2025, comes months after a viral social media campaign where Hellen alleged that Cubana Chief Priest abandoned her and their alleged son after a brief affair during his business trip to Kenya in 2022. The Chief Priest has consistently denied the claims, branding them “malicious, fabricated, and reputationally damaging.”

Court documents obtained by local reporters reveal that Chief Priest is demanding a formal retraction, public apology across media platforms, and damages totaling over KSh 45 million (approximately ₦450 million) for what his legal team describes as “a deliberate character assassination campaign aimed at extorting and embarrassing a public figure.”

Hellen, who has gained social media fame since the allegations, claimed in a March 2025 interview that the child is a result of a romantic encounter with the Nigerian businessman in Mombasa. DNA test requests were reportedly ignored by both parties until now, but Chief Priest’s legal team has included a court-backed paternity test as part of the lawsuit conditions.

Legal sources in Nairobi confirm that a preliminary hearing has been set for early July, and the Kenyan court has issued a temporary restraining order stopping Hellen from making further defamatory statements until the case is determined.

Cubana Chief Priest’s legal representatives emphasized that this lawsuit is meant to “set the record straight” and protect his family, business interests, and integrity in both Nigeria and Kenya. They warned that failure to uphold the rule of law in the social media era could “normalize public blackmail under the disguise of trending gossip.”

The case has already stirred major interest on social platforms in both countries, with supporters divided over who is telling the truth. While some believe the businessman is protecting his image, others are demanding that both parties take the DNA test publicly to clear the air once and for all.
