In a solemn procession, the body of late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, was flown from Lagos to Abuja ahead of his internment scheduled for Friday at the National Military Cemetery. The Nigerian flag-draped casket, accompanied by top military officials, marked a moving farewell for the fallen leader, who passed away in Lagos after an illness.

Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, appointed COAS in June 2023, held a decorated career defined by his strategic roles in securing Nigeria through operations such as ZAKI in Benue, Lafiya Dole in Borno, Udoka in the Southeast, and Forest Sanity across Kaduna and Niger States. Born on February 28, 1968, his passing has left an indelible impact on the military and nation.
