Celebrated gospel artist Sinach has been hit with a N5 billion lawsuit by music producer Michael Oluwole, popularly known as Maye, over alleged copyright infringement involving her globally renowned 2016 hit, Way Maker.

In the lawsuit, filed under suit number FHC/L/CS/402/2024 at the Federal High Court in Lagos, Maye claims to be the co-author and co-owner of the song, seeking a declaration of his rights alongside general damages for alleged violations.

Sinach has firmly denied the allegations, maintaining her sole authorship of the iconic track and citing her global acclaim even before the song’s release.
