Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, has called for renewed determination from his team following their unexpected 2-1 defeat to the Republic of Benin in a 2026 World Cup qualifier in Abidjan last night.

Emphasizing the need for commitment, George stated, “We need to see how we can get the best out of the players when the new season begins. They must show more commitment for us to start winning games. The fight is still on when we start winning.”

Despite the challenging path ahead, with Nigeria having just three points from four matches, Finidi remains optimistic. “We can’t throw in the towel,” he asserted. “We have to win games. If we win games, the battle is still there.”
