In Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, a 24-year-old salesgirl named Sheba Simon was stabbed by unidentified hoodlums.

The incident occurred on Sunday, April 28, 2024, around 9:30 pm near Damaturu Academy in Malari Bye Pass while Sheba was on her way home.

Residents alerted security operatives after discovering Sheba in a pool of blood. She had been ambushed and stabbed in the back with a knife by the unknown attackers, who also snatched her phone during the assault.

Sheba was rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu for medical treatment and is currently responding well to treatment.

The Yobe State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident, expressing disdain for the violent act. The Command assured that all available means have been deployed to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Residents were urged to report any suspicious movements of persons, vehicles, or objects to the nearest police station or security agency for necessary action.
