Ikukuoma Football Club, the reigning Imo State FA Cup Champion hailing from Umuochaku Ezeagbogu in Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA, has received a prestigious invitation to participate in the 39th edition of the Target USA CUP, slated for July in Blaine, Minnesota, USA.

Dr. Summers VC Nwokie, the primary sponsor of the Mbaise Blues, expressed his elation at the club’s opportunity to compete in its maiden international tournament during a recent interview. Kelli Goodrich, the 2024 Target USA CUP Recruiting Manager, questioned the absence of Nigerian representation at the renowned youth soccer event and urged the US Embassy in Lagos to facilitate visa procurement for the team.

The philanthropic efforts of Dr. Nwokie will further support the club as they gear up for the tournament, with plans underway to enlist a respected Spain-based coach to refine the team’s skills for the international stage. The team will undergo a two-month training camp in Owerri before departing for the United States in July.
