A section of Abuja’s most popular trading zone, Wuse Market, on Tuesday evening went up in flames, forcing some people in the area to scamper to safety.

Although the cause of the fire was not immediately known, but firefighters and security operatives were immediately mobilized to the scene.

Vanguard had reported how three people were burned to death on February 29, 2024, after a residential building in EFAB estate in Karsana District near Gwarinpa went up in flames.

The six bedroom duplex located on Number 9, Dr Fabian Nwaora Street, Efab Estate, reportedly went up in flames following an explosion from a drum of diesel at the back yard.

Some occupants of the building, passersby and men of the Federal Fire Service FFS battles to put out the fire.

A safety official told Vanguard that the victims had been evacuated to the morgue.
