Chelsea interim boss, Frank Lampard has said he will not be drawn into speculation that Mauricio Pochettino will take the role on a permanent basis.

Lampard was speaking to the media on Tuesday, ahead of their Premier League clash against Brentford.

The former England midfielder replaced Graham Potter until the end of the season.

This week, it has emerged that Pochettino is close to taking the job from next season.

“I’m not going to get involved with any future manager talk because it’s all speculation. It’s as simple as that.

“I wouldn’t expect anything in football, but it’s clear we’ve come into this club when it’s in big difficulties.

“We’ll keep helping in our short time, but the world won’t change, but we’ll keep doing our maximum to do that.”
