Presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Kola Abiola, has promised that his administration will end Nigerians’ suffering, which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) governments subjected them to since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999.

Speaking during the presidential rally at Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State, yesterday, the candidate said the people knew his family background and the pedigree of his late parents.

Kola is son of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election annulled by the military regime of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd).

His words: “So, if I promise I would bring relief to you through good governance, you can as well hold me responsible for my words.”

e noted that the presidential candidates of APC and PDP, Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar respectively, were together during the 1993 presidential election, and that they had participated in governments at various levels.

But he said: “Though my father is not here, I am here to stand in for him. M.K.O. Abiola won in 1993, and I stand to represent him today. We shall repeat that victory.”

National Chairman of PRP, Falalu Bello, said the party, which was a regional party in the Second Republic, is now a national party, which is ready to repeat the great height the likes of Balarabe Musa, the late governor of Old Kaduna State and Abubakar Rimi of Kano State took their states before the collapse of that republic.

Bello accused the PDP and APC of ruining Nigeria instead of ruling it since 1999. He specifically described the APC government as a monumental failure that should not be allowed another chance to rule the country.
