The Accord gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has declared that another four years of the current governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde would be disastrous and anti-development.

Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor (Operations) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), made this declaration during an interactive session with some journalists in Ibadan, the state capital, on Monday.

DAILY POST recalls Adelabu was the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.

Makinde, who contested the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defeated Adelabu and other candidates during the election.

Adelabu has, however, declared that Makinde’s performance in the last three and half years is not the best for the state.

He said that he decided to run for the office of the governor in 2023 because Makinde’s performance was not satisfactory.

Adelabu, while speaking, further claimed that the people of the state have realised that Makinde is not the best for the state.

He added that the people believed the governor should be restricted to four years.

Adelabu said, “His performance till date is not the best for us as a pacesetter state.

“Another four years under this government would be disastrous and anti-development.

“That is why we came out together again and say, let us give it another try.

“So this time, virtually everybody agrees that Seyi is not the best for Oyo State and that he should be restricted to four years”.
