ThE Lagos State Drivers’ Institute has blamed the road insanity prevalent during ‘ember months’ on the impatience of commercial drivers who move in and out of the state.

The General Manager of LASDRI, Mrs Afusat Tiamiyu, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

She said, “There is a need for continuous partnership between the Lagos State government and stakeholders in the transportation sector which will continually improve road sanity and promote positive road culture among the monitoring public.

“We have given dreadful meanings to the ember months of the year, due to the impatient attitude of commercial drivers especially. I advise the public on being cautious during the ‘ember months,’ because patience is vital when driving in these months as more people will be moving in and out of Lagos in preparation for the forthcoming festive seasons.

“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration has been unrelenting in its quest to bring succour to Lagos residents through efficient transportation and traffic management which has witnessed great improvements as a result of the state government’s engagement with all stakeholders on various policy matters.

“LASDRI has increased its training centres to 11 to accommodate the increasing numbers of trainee drivers that present themselves for training at the institute. I advise those who are yet to be trained by the institute to do so quickly in order not to be caught on the wrong side of the law.”
