Cross River State government is planning to buy waste from residents, especially those in the urban centres.

General manager of the State Waste Management Agency, Sunny Uko disclosed this at an event organised by Nigerian Society of Engineers in Calabar.

In the last four months, waste disposal has posed a huge challenge to the state government, with mountains of refuse blocking major roads.
