Bandits have killed four persons, injured eight, while 15 others were abducted, in Fapo, a village in Lapai Local Government area of Niger State.

The incident which was said to have occurred in the early hours of Sunday, destabilized the villagers as they scrambled for safety when they heard gunshots.

An eyewitness,  Danlami Idris, who spoke to our correspondent revealed that the armed men stormed the village in their numbers shooting sporadically.

Idris said the attack lasted for hours adding that the community had never experienced such an attack.

“We have never experienced such attack before now, the attack was horrible considering the numbers of death recorded as well as injuries.” Idris said.

Idris called on governments and security agencies to rise up to their responsibility in securing lives and property to avoid future devastating attacks in the community.

Calls to the Niger State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, were not picked up, neither were they returned as at the time of filling this report.
