Zaria-Kano road was on Thursday evening blocked by tanker drivers for eight hours.

They alledged one of their colleagues (driver), was injured by the staff of the Kaduna State Urban Development Authority (KASUPDA), selling stickers to drivers.

An eyewitness told DAILY POST in Kaduna, on Friday, that the drivers blocked the road along Zabi, in Dogarawa ward of Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State causing serious gridlock.

Malam Bawa Isah, a driver, who was traveling from Lagos to Kano, claimed that about six staff of the Kaduna State Urban Development Authority, KASUPDA, who were issuing stickers to tanker drivers were responsible for the blockage.

According to him, “I parked my truck by the roadside. I saw the staff of KASUPDA removing my battery and sought the reason behind their action, they started beating me. This caused the dislocation of my shoulder.”

He said the arrival of his colleagues (tanker drivers) was what saved him, adding that they subsequently took to their heels as soon as they saw his colleagues.

promised to get back after getting the details of the incident.
