Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has assured fans that Robert Lewandowski’s goal drought in the preseason friendly games should not be a major concern ahead of the La Liga fixtures.

Recall that Barcelona concluded their pre-season tour of the USA on Saturday night, defeating New York Red Bulls 2-0.

Lewandowski, who forced through a move to Barcelona from Bayern, has not scored yet for his new team, but Xavi is not at all worried.

“He has been scoring in training, as the ball was going in yesterday and then today it didn’t, but it’s normal,” Xavi told reporters, speaking of Lewandowski after the Saturday night win.

The same thing also happened with Luis Suarez or Ferran Torres when they arrived.

“He is going to score goals, even though he brings much more than goals.

“I think Raphinha will help us a lot too, as he is a spectacular signing for this season and future ones.”

On whether the Catalan giants would be bringing in more players before the end of the transfer window, Xavi added:

“I don’t [know] if there will be more, it all depends on the financial fair play and the finances.

“There will be exits and I’ve been clear about that.”
