Captain David Mbamara (Rtd),  the South East Coordiantor of RNP, in a chat with Nigeria Watchdog Reporter, said “the group, otherwise referred to as the third force parades decent, patriotic and thorough bred Nigerians of impeccable character, and unblemished track record who have decided to come together to seek ways of rescuing Nigeria from the rot it is currently enveloped in.”

Continuing, he said, “the Rescue Nigeria Project,RNP, that has viable structures in all the wards and local government areas in the country which is the platform through which the  rescue agenda will be perfected comprises distinguished and eminent Nigerians across board including, Prof  Pat Utomi, Prof Attahiru Jega and other like minds.

“The result of the concerted efforts of these distinguished patriotic and eminent Nigerians who have diligently served our country in different capacities where they made tremendous impact is what will be witnessed tomorrow, as the RNP and NCF, led by Dr Pat Utomi will collapse their structures into the Labour Party, in line with a national directive to that effect.”

Captain Mbamara further assured that the group, aside collapsing its structures at the ward, local government and state levels for the Labour Party, has also vowed to do everything it can to ensure landslide victory for Peter Obi and other candidates of Labour Party in 2023.

“We are mindful of the fact that if Peter Obi, as the President of Nigeria, does not have members of his party at the National and State houses of assembly, it would be difficult for him to actualize his vision of transforming and repositioning the country.”

Speaking on why the group singled out Peter Obi and Labour Party for such endorsement and massive support, the retired military personnel said, “we chose Peter Obi after thorough analysis, including subjecting all the presidential candidates to a 4-way test, bordering on integrity, capacity, inclusiveness and track record of achievements in governance.”

“It is on record that after being Governor of Anambra state for 8 years, Peter Obi left office without blemish. He declared his assets before and after being Governor. He was also not questioned by any anti-graft agency in or outside the country.

“He paid salaries, pensions and gratuities of civil servants and retirees respectively and still left close to N100b for the incoming administration at the end of his tenure.

“Peter Obi’s achievements in terms of socio-economic and infrastructural development when he was Governor of Anambra state are reference points that are worthy of emulation and replication at the national level.

“He ran an inclusive administration that ensured harmony with the different arms of government, especially the state house of assembly where there was no impeachment or suspension of any lawmaker all through his 8-year tenure.”

“From all indications, Obi has what it takes to address Nigeria’s damaged economy and restore the country on the path of socio-economic growth and stability, unlike what is obtainable today.”

Speaking on APC’s administration, the security consultant said,”look at what is happening in the country today. President Muhammadu Buhari doesn’t have respect for inclusive governance. Hence ethnicity, religious intolerance and insecurity, resulting in banditry, kidnapping for ransome and other vices have become the order of the day, while the cabals with whom he is ruling the country are doing nothing.

“We, in RNP, like most Nigerians are convinced that Peter Obi is the man of the moment. He has all it takes to turn things around for good in this country. We will therefore stop at nothing in our resolve to ensure that he becomes the next President of Nigeria.”

“We are also convinced that, with him at the helm of affairs, all candidates elected on the platform of Labour Party will perform effectively, because he would not condone anything that will indict his administration.”
