Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers in a joint operation with vigilantes in Gombi Local Government Area of the state. 

Spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroji, who disclosed this in a statement said two kidnapped victims, aged 11 and 65, were rescued during the operation. 

“Operatives of Adamawa state police command has on the 4/6/2022 disconnected a criminal network,arrested three suspects for kidnapping activities and rescued two victims unharmed at Ngurore Mountain, in Gombi local government,” the PPRO stated.

“The suspects, Muhammed Bello ‘m’ 25 years , a resident of sabon gari Dambo’a local government area of Borno state, 2.Hammadu Ahmad ‘m’ 20 years and 3.Umaru Isa “m’ 20 years all residents of Gada Maisaje Gombi, were said to have kidnapped one Yuguda Usman ‘m’ 11 years old and Mohammed Mohammed ‘m’ 65 years old all resident of Wushubura village Gombi,”

“The incident was reported to police by good Samaritan haven observed their suspicious movement around the Mountain.

“On the strength of that,the Commissioner of police, CP SK Akande ordered for immediate action, prompt response by the DPO Gombi and members of vigilantes yielded positive result.

“Investigation so far reveals that the syndicate have been terorising villages and villagers around Gombi and Song local government areas.”

Meanwhile, the CP has commended the effort of DPO Gombi, his men and members of vigilantes for their prompt respond to the situation,and urged other DPOs to do same in their various AORs.

The police boss also directed O/C crack squad to take over investigation and ensure prosecution.

He further directed that the two fleeing suspects be traced for possible arrest.
