A new Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Kayode Akande has assumed office in Adamawa State.

A statement from the state Police Command which introduced the new CP, says Sikiru Akande, until his posting to Adamawa State, was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The statement, released to newsmen Monday by the state police image maker, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, also said Sikiru Akande had earlier been the Police Commissioner in Rivers State.

“The new Commissioner of Police holds a Bsc in Political Science from the prestigious University of Benin, Edo State,” the police statement said, adding that “CP SK AKANDE was appointed into the Nigeria Police as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Sometime in 1990.”

“He is a passionate, versatile and experienced police officer who served in multiple units of Operational, investigative and administrative departments in this Nation,” the statement added.
