Russian vessels are preparing missile strikes from the sea against Ukrainian targets amid the ongoing war between both countries.

This was disclosed by the Ukrainian Defence Ministry on Monday, according to the BBC.

“The vessels of the Russian Federation’s Black Sea fleet are carrying out tasks in designated areas of the Black and Azov sea operational zones,” the ministry said.

“Some vessels have entered a closed area, probably to carry out missile strikes against facilities in Ukraine.”

The ministry added that the Russian troops are focusing on keeping their positions, adding that they are trying to regroup to enhance their offensive capabilities against Ukraine.

The war between Ukraine and Russia began in February.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered the invasion of Ukraine over disagreements on some political issues.
