A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Jacob Abidoye Bamigboye has appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to urgently rehabilitate the Iluju bridge in the constituency.

Bamigboye who represents the Oriire State Constituency at the state House of Assembly explained that the bridge is the only link that connects the only secondary school in the community.

Our correspondent recalls that the bridge was washed away by a flood in April last year, preventing students who were writing their 2021 West African Examination Council, WAEC, exams from gaining access to the school.

The lawmaker has, however, appealed to Makinde to without wasting more time, repair the bridge.

The lawmaker in a matter of urgent public importance introduced to the house hinted that the damaged bridge is the only link to the only secondary school in the area named the Community Grammar School, Iluju.

Bamigboye maintained that as the 2022 rainfall season sets in, the area poses a great danger for the whole community if urgent action is not taken to repair the damaged bridge.

He explained that heavy downpours may wreak more havoc on the already damaged bridge.

Bamigboye said, “Subsequently, NECO was also written in the same Primary School because the students could not gain access to the Community Grammar School, Iluju.

“Since the incident occurred last year, nothing has been done on the said bridge by the government or its representative.

“With this development, the Iluju Community has been cut off from other communities in the area and residents are suffering, to say the least.
