Traditional rulers in Imo State have been urged to take the protection of public properties seriously.

Speaking during the presentation of Staff of Office / Certificate of Recognition to 51 new traditional rulers at the Government House Exco Chamber, Owerri, Governor Hope Uzodimma urged them  to take ownership and protect public properties in their respective communities.

Governor Uzodimma who assured the traditional rulers of the commitment of his administration in bettering the  welfare of citizens of the state, announced the rehabilitation of healthcare centers in all the 305 INEC wards of the state.

The project worth N1 billion is expected to improve healthcare delivery across the state and the Governor charged the new traditional  against passive interest that will affect both  execution and utilization of the public projects in their respective communities.

Governor Uzodinma also announced the community development center that will further drive development to the grassroots.

“You are ambassadors of Government, be fair and just with your people “ – Uzodimma stated.
