President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met former President Goodluck Jonathan behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The agenda of the meeting with Jonathan, which took place at about 3 pm was not made public.

Jonathan was appointed last year by the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, as a special envoy to lead the sub-regional body’s mediation mission in Mali.

The forum, according to Mali’s transitional President, Colonel Assimi Goita, “will make an unflinching assessment of the state of the nation and draw the best lessons from it”.
