FG issues fresh order to Nigerian Armed Forces

The federal government has ordered members of the Nigerian Armed Forces to reinforce total compliance with the acceptable norms of regimentation.

The directive issued by Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi said the government expects enhanced combat readiness of fighting forces.

Magashi addressed the 2021 Nigerian Army Infantry Corps Annual Leadership Lecture Series and Biennial Reunion.

The event was held on Friday at the Corps Headquarters, Jaji Cantonernment in Kaduna State.

Magashi stressed the need to upscale the tempo of regimentation and urged the military to maintain a professional pedigree of gallantry.

The retired General called the reunion “a veritable platform aimed at broadening the horizon of horizontal and vertical nexus of combat capacity and capabilities”.

Magashi commissioned the newly constructed Quarter Guards and the extension of the Corps Headquarters Office Complex

Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Farouk Yahaya, ex-Head of State General Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd), represented by retired Maj Gen S. Z. Uba and Commander, Infantry Corps Maj Gen Victor Ezugwu agreed that the gathering was a catalyst for counter-terrorism capacity building.
