The former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has commended the people of Anambra State for coming out to vote and ensured their votes counted.

He hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for midwifing a credible election in Anambra State by being disinterested despite belonging to a party.

He also commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for being a reliable arbiter.

While acknowledging improvement, he said it was disappointing for some of the reported failings of some of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), urging the INEC for improvement.

While congratulating the Candidates of various parties for putting up a good fight, he said that only one candidate will emerge based on the feelings of the people.

He congratulated All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate who was declared winner by the INEC, urging him to live up to his name, his antecedent of excellence and his electoral promises to the people.

For his party, APC, he stated: “it is about time people appreciated APC for what they stand for. We stand for Democracy and we have made sacrifices for the people to have their way.

“There is no need for blame games, we must learn to be sincere and eschew bitterness. I want the stakeholders to go come together and review things and prepare for next election.

“We all remember various elections where President Buhari also played the role of a father as the President and allowed the people choose their candidate.

“I commend the good spirited Anambrarians who ensured that right things were done”
