According to the DG, the decision to make the vaccines available is in line with the Federal government’s directive that all Civil Servants must be vaccinated on or before 1st of December 2021.

Ibrahim noted that the management decided to vaccinate the Corps members as they could be affected by the deadline.

He said:” As you may be aware, the Federal Government had announced plans to make presentation of evidence of covid-19 vaccination by civil servants a pre-requisite for gaining entry into public offices from 1st December 2021.

“I, therefore, encourage those of you who are yet to take the vaccine to do so without further delay as the rule may apply to corps members in their places of primary assignment.

“Of greater significance is the fact that the vaccine will keep you safe. We are already in touch with relevant authorities with a view to ensuring that the vaccines are made available to you in the course of this programme”.

The NYSC DG warned the corps members to refrain from using the social media to cause division and hatred but to promote unity.

“Let me use this opportunity to caution you against indulgence in cultism, drug abuse and other social vices. I also urge you to use the social media only for the promotion of unity and other positive purposes rather than rumour peddling and promotion of hatred,” he said.

Ibrahim also urged the corps members to be security conscious at all times and avoid putting themselves in harm’s way.

A total of 1135 graduates drawn from various state of the country were sworn-in during the event in the State.
