Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has denied endorsing anyone for the Okigwe senate seat contest.
An Owerri-based newspaper had on Monday alleged that Uzodinma adopted the Secretary to Imo State Government, Chief Cosmas Iwu as his preferred choice candidate for the plum position.
Reacting to the publication, some top government officials who preferred to remain anonymous, told Daily Nigerian Horn, that the publication was far from the truth.
“Governor Uzodinma cannot and will not impose anyone on the people of Okigwe Zone-this is a governor that believes in what the majority wants and would not want to do what Owelle Rochas Okorocha and others did.
“So anyone telling you that Governor Hope Uzodinma has endorsed Chief Cosmas Iwu, is trying to be mischievous.” The officials noted.
