The wife and family members of the owner of Fancy Hotel, Owerri, Imo State, Chrisoganus Osuagwu, who died of COVID-19 had been quarantined.

A kinsman of the deceased who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said the community had not been thrown into panic since Osuagwu’s death bcause hedid not spend much time in the village.

“The deceased  did not spend much time at home before he went back to Abuja where he tested positive for coronavirus and later died. So, we are not afraid of the outbreak of the disease in our village,”” he said .

The source, however, said that his wife and few family members had been quarantined in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The source said, “Some villagers are not jittery because he just breezed in and left immediately. It was at his hotel in Owerri that he spent some time and all the guests of the hotel and workers have been quarantined by the Imo State Government.

“We also learnt that his wife and his family members have been quarantined in Abuja. The government is the one tracing his contacts and all his contacts are being quarantined.”
