The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has blasted former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha for bequeathing deplorable roads across the state.

The party said the deplorable condition of the roads depicts the former governor’s cruelty against the people of the state.

In a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Damian Oparah, the party accused the erstwhile governor of deploying non-descript contractors who used inferior materials to construct substandard roads in the state.

The party said it cried foul when the former administration was constructing the substandard roads but regretted that many saw its cry as playing opposition.

It further noted in less than six months of Okorocha’s exit, roads in Owerri have been washed off and decorated with pot-holes and craters as well as gullies.

It however pleaded with commuters and residents to exercise patience more so now that the deplorable road condition has attracted the attention of the administration of Gov. Emeka Ihedioha.
