Former Commandant of Imo Community Watch and Executive Chairman of Okigwe LGA, Imo State has described the visit Imo Recovery Team paid him as ‘harassing and molesting of members of the Opposition in the State’

Pastor Onwumere who condemned the manner at which the committee organized violent youths to harass him, his wife and children, which is against the initial statement by Mr. Iheanyi Enwerem, a spokesperson of the committee who alleged that the youths came to the rescue after Pastor Frank have resisted them by firing shots in the air.

Part of the statement by the committee reads “The calm visit to the home of Onwumere, however turned a warzone for more than 3 hours   following the hiring of thugs by the former IWC Commandant who however started shooting sporadically in the air to scare the Committee, in addition this angered the youths of Umueja community as the mobilized themselves to pressurize him to allow Ndubuaku led committee to do their work”

The Committee also accused Pastor Frank of using his thugs to deny them entrance into his compound and while they claimed in their release that four vehicles which include 1 Tata Hilux, 1 kia salon car, 1 Sienna vehicle and 1 Hyundai salon car were taken from the Pastor Frank’s compound, the former Imo Community Watch Commandant alleged that “five of his cars including the car prize gift won by his son during the Okpara Imo contest”

Pastor Frank also alleged that the group went ahead to confiscate his cars even when he showed them documents proving the cars are authentically his.

In a similar situation, Deac. Chile Okafor a former Commissioner under former Imo State Governor Okorocha has alleged that the committee is taking Five Hundred Thousand Naira bribe from their victims to return confiscated cars, adding that the Committe has taken his Hilux van even when he showed document that the car belongs to him.
