A former governor of Imo state and the Accord Party governorship candidate in the state, Ikedi Ohakim, has promised to bring back the ‘Imo 10,000 job scheme’ should he win the March 2, 2019 governorship election in the state.

Governor Rochas Okorocha had, upon assumption of office in 2011, sacked 10,000 graduates employed by the Ohakim-led administration, alleging unprofessionalism in the recruitment exercise.

But speaking at the Kanu Nwankwo Stadium in Owerri during the inauguration of his campaign, Ohakim said that he would re-employ the sacked 10,000 graduates should he come back as governor.

The ex-governor said that the state was in an intensive care unit and needed an experienced surgeon like him to fix it.

According to him, he was determined to make sure that the economy of the state was revived through qualitative governance.

Ohakim added that his government would pay premium attention to qualitative education and the professional healthcare system.

Describing himself as the most experienced candidate, Ohakim maintained that the problems of the state did not need any experiment.
