After the rigorous and pain-taking process one takes from Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the next thing in a first year students mind, is not just to participate in the matriculation feast but to sign the departmental register as officially admitted student. In her opening speech, the Rector warmly welcomed the now new brides into the citadel of learning while charging them to be of good moral and to hold sacrosanct, the school’s rules and regulations. She appealed to them to embrace their books and wear the garment of seriousness if any of them intends to graduate with good grades in their result. Finally, she warned them to desist from any form of cultism and examination malpractices as anyone caught in such acts will be expelled from the polytechnic in line with the school rules and regulations. However, outside the campus, traffic jam along the road leading to the school was dealing mercilessly with commuters and other motorists who forget that the word patience existed in the dictionary.
