Overwhelmed by the tumultous crowd of women who welcomed him at Otoko, headquarters of Obowo LGA, where he had gone to offer support and solidarity to his wife Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha during the grand finale of the 2014 Women August meeting for Okigwe Zone, the Governor expressed surprise that his wife could mobilize as much support and loyalty, from the women folk. Stunned the great and overflowing enthusiasm exuded by the women drawn from Obowo, Ihitte/Uboma, Ehime Mbano, Isiala Mbano, Onuimo and Okigwe LGAs, Okorocha, who was in very high spirit, declared that should his wife decide to challenge him in the 2015 Governorship election, there is the possibility that she will defeat him. He equally expressed mixed feelings over the unpredictability of women who he said are capable of turning the table over night. This he said is because they could become scorpions whenever their husbands could not provide their basic needs or wants but ardent lovers once their desires are met comfortably.
“Whenever I provide more than enough money for soup, my wife, who is now a great mobilizer would call darling, honey and sweetie but when I am incapable of meeting her requirements she call me Rochas with impunity. I am not surprise that she is such a formidable threat and competitor to the office of the Governor of Imo State. apart from her I do not consider any of the PDP aspirants as a match. None of them can compete with me. I know their strengths and weaknesses. After all I was a pioneer member of the PDP when many of them who are now aspiring to become Governors were merely running errands in the party”, he concluded.
Turning to the mammoth crowd who appeared in various colourful costumes, Governor Okorocha pleaded with them to kindly release him for a national service in 2015, especially now that he has given them free education, schools and hospitals, infrastructural facilities and industries. He then stated that all he has given to Imo people in three years were the things that PDP could not offer them for 12 years.
