The recent court of appeal judgment which affirmed Chief Victor Umeh as the authentic National Chairman of the All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has sent shock waves to the camp of Capt.Emmanuel Ihenacho over his governorship ambition. According to APGA sources, Capt. Ihenacho has seen a staunch supporter of Chief Maxi Okwu’s faction which has been challenging Umeh’s position in the party as the Chairman.

The sources who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed to our reporter that the retired Marine Captain had vehemently refused to work with the Chief Umeh’s group in Imo State. They further accused Capt. Ihenacho of betraying his former party being People’s Democratic Party(PDP) during the 2011 Governorship electionr and maintained that his romance with the APC led Government in Imo while pretending to be in APGA lends credence to the believe by the large population of Imo portrays him unstable politician.
Another Chieftain of APGA who is in the campaign train of the former Minister boasted that Guber aspirant has all it takes to fly over all APGA delegates when the stage is set since according to him, Umeh is a businessman that will see to the highest bidder.
Some APGA executive members at both State and LGA levels are said to be very uncomfortable with Capt Ihenacho who some of them see as one they can’t work with.
These stalwarts are said to have been clamoring for a real party man as they see Iheancho as one who will dump them the way Okorocha did if elected on that party’s platform.
At the time of filling in this report, Capt Ihenacho was said to have flew to Abuja to meet with Chief Victor Umeh in a bid to play into his camp, having realized that the game may not favour his favorite-Maxi Okwu.
His visit to Chief Umeh, according to a political analyst  who doesn’t want his name in print shows that he has also dumped Maxi Okwu, stressing that ”that is the landmark of a desperate politician”
With the latest development in the polity, especially as it affects the APGA,and with the nasty experience the party had with Governor Rochas Okorocha, and some lawmakers. Stakeholders in APGA have resolved not to give their ticket to any politician with a past record of biting the finger that fed him.
Many of them are of the belief that those who joined them from other parties would definitely dump the party as it has become a culture of most of the desperate politicians in Imo.
In contrary, the media aid to Capt Ihenacho,Barr Emperor Iwala in a swift reaction to Community watchdog through a release made available to us stated that there is no cause for alarm as his Boss is has worked assiduously  to clinch the ticket having mobilized the Imo electorate. He however, congratulated Chief Victor Umeh over his appeal court victory.
