Veteran actor Chief Chika Okpala, has made it clear that marketers of Nollywood movies are one the major reasons why the movie industry is still underdeveloped.
Chief Okpala made this known during the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) veterans meeting with the national president Ibinabo Fibersima in Owerri the capital city of Imo State.
Speaking during the interactive session of the South-East Nollywood veterans with the President, Zebrudaya as he is popularly known, said that marketers often prefer working  with a particular set of people, forgetting that there are many others in the industry who should have gained from the roles but end up with little or nothing, while another group have everything to themselves.

“While growing up, there was a movie called James Bond, someone played the role then and other have come and gone on the same role. Why can’t we learn that the industry is not about a certain group, but everyone in the guild?”
He went further to say that AGN should see that anyone registered to it benefits in one way or the other within a year.
Chief Okpala went ahead to speak against the notion that the era of the veterans has past by saying that they still have so much to offer in  the industry.
“There is no way anyone can say that the headmaster who taught him is no longer a teacher, or that his era has passed, because once a teacher, always a teacher. So this is our era because we still have so much to offer the industry” he said.
On the current AGN leadership, he hailed the executive whom according to him have started on a good note by inviting the veterans who has all the wisdom and experience the industry needs to succeed in stock.
“The advice of an elder is wisdom. Having invited the elders to advice them means they want to succeed.
The efforts of the past executives need to be improved on and we need an AGN that will lead us to the promise land” He added.
